Amazing Indiana Music StoriesDid you know?  Our exhibition gallery in Broad Ripple is open M-F 9-5.  Free admission!

We’re located at 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue in the Lower Level of Flanner Buchanan.  Park in the back lot free and enter the back door, and then downstairs to the left.  We are handicap accessible with an elevator and no steps as well.  Elevator is to the right as you enter.

We have exhibits covering most genres of music across the state, back to the 1920’s and to current times.

In addition to our main gallery, we work with organizations throughout the state on Indiana music history projects including our recent ‘Amazing Indiana Music Stories‘ exhibit at the Indiana State Library and contributions to the recent ‘Wes Montgomery: Polka Dots and Moonbeams’ display at the Indianapolis International Airport.

An online resource dedicated to documenting all Indiana musicians, artists, recordings, and music businesses from the earliest days of recorded history to the present.

Indiana Music Radio

A 24/7 streaming radio station featuring 100% Indiana music recordings across all genres, localities, and time frames.

Indiana Music Collection & Digital Archive

We are trying to obtain copies of every Indiana music release on LP, 45, cassette, CD, and 78, along with music posters, flyers, and memorabilia related to Indiana music. We are also digitizing the physical music collection and building an archive of images and recordings, which will be online and accessible to the public.  >>LEARN MORE

 

Gennett Suite

We are the fiscal sponsor and promotional partner for the Gennett Suite project, an original composition by Brent Wallarab based on 1920’s recordings at Richmond’s Gennett Studios. The Gennett Suite is available on compact disc, vinyl LP, and digitally. We are proud partners with Timeless Music in this endeavor.

Hoagy Carmichael Award for Excellence in Jazz Composition

Inaugurated in 2022, the award is a $3,000 scholarship provided to a selected Indiana University jazz student, in association with the family of Hoagy Carmichael. We are the fiscal sponsor and promotional partner.
