Indiana’s contribution to country music is significant, and includes bluegrass and rockabilly, the latter fused
early rock and country styles.

Rockabilly stars include Ronnie Haig, Tommy Lam, Harry Carter, Lattie Moore, Glynn Hipp, Herbie Duncan and Art Adams, who continues to perform today,

Indiana Country and Rockabilly

Nashville, TN has attracted many of the best country artists from Indiana, including Connie Smith, Janie Fricke, Crystal Gayle, Steve Wariner, Joe Edwards, and Sylvia Hutton.

While Bill Monroe was not a Hoosier, he was very involved in the annual Bean Blossom Festival. Bobby Helms, of Bloomington, is internationally known for his timeless “Jingle Bell Rock” song. Indiana’s Wright Brothers have a 50 year legacy as country performers.
