John Mellencamp may be the best known Indiana rocker, but there are countless others, some of whom are represented in our exhibit at the Indiana State Library.
Early Indiana rock stars include The Rivieras, Troy Shondell, Five Stars and Boyd Bennett.
The British Invasion inspired garage rock, including Sir Winston and the Commons, The McCoys, The Boys Next Door and Sound Unlimited.
The 1970’s yielded Roadmaster, Faith Band, Rick Derringer (ex-McCoys), Mason Profitt John Hiatt and Ethos.
The Gizmos, Dow Jones and the Industrials, The Zero Boys, Sloppy Seconds and the Dancing Cigarettes emerged from the early days of punk and new wave.
